Mercy-Based Mission and Goals

Mission of the Carlow University Alumnae/i Association (CUAA)

.The CUAA's mission is to encourage the lifelong learning of its members, to recognize and affirm the mission and values of the university as they are lived by alumnae/i, and to promote ongoing, mutually life-giving relationships among alumnae/i themselves as well as between Carlow alumnae/i and the contemporary university community.

Reunion Year Class Goals

Alumnae/i leaders and class agents set a goal for each reunion year class to collectively fund the equivalent of one year's Carlow undergraduate tuition (or multiple) for merit-and-need-based scholarships provided through the Annual Fund. Classes focus on returning something to Carlow in support of the Mercy-based mission: "To serve the poor, the sick and the under-educated."

Consider these statistics regarding our full-time undergraduate students:

  • 55% are the first in their families to attend college,
  • 95% receive financial aid at an average level of $8,546,
  • Tuition is nearly $17,000 plus fees, room and board, and books,
  • Textbooks cost from $87 to $140 each.

Class Agents and their class committees hold a Phonathon in April and May to reconnect with classmates and urge attendance of Alumnae/i Weekend and giving to the class gift for the Annual Fund. Get Involved!
