  • Mass at the beautiful convent chapel begins at 4:30 pm if you'd like to attend and afterward, perhaps meet with Sisters of Mercy that you haven't seen in many years.

Kresge Theater Production: Mother Frances Warde: Bringing Mercy to America

Frances Warde

A one-woman show on a unique lifeforce, Frances Warde, who lead seven Sisters of Mercy to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Carlow, Ireland in 1843. Written and produced by Savage Media and performed by Ms. Kathleen Bishop who works at ABC's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Come to see this one-time show connecting us to the Mercy roots at Carlow University and the Sisters of Mercy. A Woman of Spirit!

  • A question and answer period with the actress will follow.

Dinner is served on campus to cap off a perfectly filled Carlow day. Provided by the Aladdin Food Service - without trays.

Menu: Choice of two salads; three entrées - penne primavera w/roasted vegetables tossed in pesto cream sauce, grilled chicken w/tropical fruit salsa and cilantro, or grilled flank steak w/tarragon sauce; roasted garlic whipped potatoes; green beans almondine; choice of two desserts (carrot cake or chocolate mousse cups with strawberries) and beverages.

Welcome Speaker: Louise Reiber Malakoff '67, recently named Chair of Carlow University Board of Trustees. Louise is the first Carlow alumna to have this position.

Service SpotLIGHT Awards - Reunion Awards Luncheon

Lunch at 12 noon ~ Registration and cash bar reception begins at 11:00 am
Renaissance Hotel, 107 6th Street, Pittsburgh PA 15222

(Space is limited to the first 200 people)

Menu: Chicken Marsala w/saffron risotto cakes & steamed broccolini; Spinach Ravioli over grilled eggplant w/goat cheese & roasted red peppers;  Jumbo Lump Crab Cake w/roistered red pepper aioli, wild rice pilaf & seasonal vegetable

All lunches are served with a Renaissance Salad, rolls & butter, iced tea or coffee, and dessert is Chocolate Mélange (chocolate cake, white & dark chocolate mousse topped with striped chocolate garnish)

This year we also celebrate our Adult Degree Program, now in its Thirtieth Year. A special recognition for all ADC (Continuing Education) graduates at the Renaissance luncheon. Gather together and reminisce a bit before lunch. Tables will be reserved for ADC alums.

3:00 pm - Just Ducky Tour of Pittsburgh
    
After lunch jump on the boat outside the Renaissance Hotel and tour Pittsburgh and its rivers with a Just Ducky Tour. Space is limited to the first 90 people who sign up. Don't delay! Tour is for one hour and will end back at the Renaissance.

Don't forget to BYOB (bring your own bulb) to be added to the new Alumnae/i Memorial Perennial Garden. Help us to build a growing memory of our time at Carlow and for those we knew and who may no longer be with us. Check back to see acceptable perennial bulbs or seeds for this planned garden. At this time, the garden will be located off Terrace Street at the entry of Parking Lot C. Great placement--great visibility! Come back each year to see how your legacy grows and adds beauty to our campus.
